On Sunday, May 5, the Canadian Airborne Forces Association along with the Garrison Petawawa Military Museum will be hosting the 56th Annual Fallen Jumper Ceremony at Garrison Petawawa. This will be followed by the Cyprus 50th Anniversary unveiling at the museum.
The day begins with the Fallen Jumper Ceremony, an annual event marking the tragic loss of seven parachutists who drowned in the Ottawa River on May 8th, 1968. Please join us at 11h00 at the memorial cairn located at the former site of Russia House (see map). We request that attendees be seated 10h45.
After the Fallen Jumper Ceremony, please join us at the Garrison Petawawa Military Museum. We will be unveiling a memorial plaque dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Canadian involvement in the United Nations forces in Cyprus. We invite you to visit the museum to view the updated exhibit on Operation Snowgoose, marking the 50th Anniversary of the Canadian Airborne Regiment involvement in Cyprus.
